O principado do M\u00f3naco organiza a sua primeira Pink Ribbon Walk para angariar fundos para a luta contra o cancro da mama e sensibilizar o p\u00fablico para o rastreio e a preven\u00e7\u00e3o. O evento, organizado pela Pink Ribbon Monaco, ter\u00e1 lugar no domingo, dia 18 de mar\u00e7o, das 9h30 \u00e0s 11h30, em Port Hercule. Todo o dinheiro recolhido ser\u00e1 doado a v\u00e1rios centros de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, hospitais e, em alguns casos, a doentes individuais necessitados.<\/b><\/p>\n

Cancro da mama<\/b> \u00e9 o cancro mais comum nas mulheres em todo o mundo, compreendendo 16%<\/b> de todos os cancros femininos. Estima-se que 519,000<\/b> mulheres morreram em 2004 devido ao cancro da mama e, embora se pense que se trata de uma doen\u00e7a do mundo desenvolvido, a maioria (69%) de todas as mortes por cancro da mama ocorre nos pa\u00edses em desenvolvimento (Carga Global de Doen\u00e7a da OMS<\/a>, 2004<\/b>). <\/p>\n
