I have always been shy to write about wine. After all, like so many people, I love to drink it but feel like the world of oenology and viticulture is a too complicated collage of mystery and secrecy to ever feel knowledgeable enough about it. I know I generally like Cotes de Provence Rosé, I know I prefer a Pinot Noir to Cabernet, and Chablis to Sancerre. But embarrassingly, I didn’t know anything about how they are made or what it takes to go from start to finish or marketing the end product.
