Luxury port of St Tropez

For those of you who have already experienced a stay in one of our luxury rental villas over winter, news that Saint Tropez has been named as one of the best cities in which to spend the cooler months will come as no surprise.

But for those of you still wondering where to sit out the period before the light evenings and long hot days reappear, read on!

In a recent Top Ten of the Best Winter Beach Towns published by the World Property Channel, Saint Tropez came fourth, ahead of popular resorts in Hawaii, Australia and Brazil.

The former French fishing village, home to our portfolio of exclusive villas to rent, was chosen by the channel dedicated to real estate trends and news for its “bunch of beautiful beaches” and its “beautiful reddish-orange Mediterranean village”.

Ramatuelle in Winter

Journalist Steve Winston wrote: “This is where the beautiful people come to tan all day, and party all night. The see-and-be-seen parties here are legendary. And so are the beach clubs, live music, and fashionable bars, bistros, and restaurants.

“Although there are a few beaches appropriate for families, most people come here to hold a drink in one hand and a member of the opposite sex in the other…and to stay awake as long as they possibly can while doing it.”

We are not sure whether Steve has actually visited Saint Tropez over the winter months, as it is fair to say that the party action is considerably less at this time of year than it is during the height of the summer.

But we at Saint Tropez House couldn’t agree more than the beaches here are second to none, even in the winter time, and the restaurants are pretty exceptional too.

Top of the list of best beach towns in winter was Miami Beach in Florida, followed by Honeymoon Beach on St John, in the US Virgin Islands and Balangan Beach, in Bali, Indonesia.
