We have compiled the latest information provided by the French Government about entering France and what to expect this summer 2021. 

Can I travel to France this summer? What are the rules and regulations to enter? Will stores and restaurants be open? These are questions we receive daily from our guests excited to visit the glistening beaches and golden sun of Saint Tropez this summer.  

In an effort to simplify and inform those unsure about the current regulations and requirements to enter France, we have put together the essential information provided by the official French Government website

Can you travel to France? 

The answer is yes, however a number of steps need to be taken prior to your departure and these vary largely depending on your country of departure. 

Arrivals from within Europe

You can enter France if you are arriving from another European country within the European Union, this also includes: Monaco, Switzerland, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, San Marino and the Holy See. 

The following documents must be presented to the border control and transport operator:

* You do not show signs of COVID-19;

* Confirming that, to your knowledge, you have not been in contact with someone confirmed to have COVID-19 in the 14 days before travel;

*You agree to submit, if you are aged 11 years or older, to a virological RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 upon arrival in France;

*If you are aged 11 or over, a negative RT-PCR test result, carried out less than 72 hours before departure.

Stay informed, connected and safe in France with the #TousAntiCovid application

Once you arrive in France, you can download the so-called “contact tracing application”  application called TousAntiCovid which allows its users to access a wide range of services.

The stages of de-confinement in Saint Tropez 

stages of de confinement in saint tropezWhispers and hopes for the re-opening of restaurants and beach clubs in Saint Tropez has finally become a reality. The official website of Saint Tropez and Commune of Ramatuelle confirmed the following: 

Saint Tropez Beaches 

The beaches of La Bouillabaisse, Graniers, Canebiers and Salins can be opened to the public on May 19th 2021.

Pampelonne (Ramatuelle) Beaches 

The beaches of Pampelonne can be opened to the public on May 19th 2021 

* Night clubs have not yet announced their re-opening for the 2021 season. 


The 4 stages of De-confinement explained:

First Stage : May 3 2021

End of self-declarations and restrictions of movement. 


Second Stage : May 19 2021

Curfew until 21h and re-opening of commerce, terraces, museums, cinemas and theaters (with limited capacity). 


Third Stage : June 9 2021

Curfew until 23h and re-opening of cafes and restaurants for indoor dining. Opening of gyms. 


Fourth Stage : June 30 2021

End of curfew.
