The quintessential French port of Saint Tropez is hugely popular with visitors over the summer months, with tables at the best restaurants literally being booked months in advance.
But those of you hoping to buy a house in Saint Tropez should be relieved to hear that this kind of reservation is not necessary after the beginning of September, when the crowds depart and Saint Tropez is left to its loyal residents once more.
However, those with ambitions to buy a house in Saint Tropez must also be aware that while the waiting lists for restaurants are greatly reduced outside of the summer season, so too is the choice of restaurants.
Below is a guide of restaurants open all year round for our clients wanting to buy a house in Saint Tropez.
• Chez Maggy
This restaurant nestled in a small street behind the port offers simple Mediterranean food in a lively atmosphere even in the depths of winter. There are often themed evenings held here, as well as live music and it’s a great place to come any time of the year. Tel: +33 (0)4 94 97 16 12
• Au Caprice des Deux
This restaurant is also hidden up a side street but it’s rarely empty, which must say something about the delicious Provencal food that is served here. It is open all year round, except in January when it is closed for the month. Tel: +33 (0)4 94 97 76 78
• La Table du Marche
This restaurant, tea-room, patisserie and deli serves simple Provencal cooking dreamed up by chef Christophe Leroy. A particularly popular dish is his spit chicken. Tel: +33 (0)4 94 97 02 58
• Brasserie des Arts
Perfectly situated on Place des Lices, where much of St Tropez’s out of season activities are played out, the Brasserie des Arts is a great place to come at any time of year. The food is superb and the atmosphere unbeaten during long winter evenings. This popular brasserie even serves Sunday brunch from 11am to 5pm. Tel: +33 (0)4 94 40 27 37
