When you think of Pampelonne Beach you may well think of St Tropez, however this iconic stretch of sand is actually located in Ramatuelle, the village adjacent to St Tropez. La Plage de Pampelonne refers to 6km of golden coast featuring no less than 24 beach clubs, and is known all over the world for its A-List reputation. Below we offer the ultimate guide to Pampelonne Beach, showing how the area and its beach clubs are split up into different territories, and where the best villas are located in each section.
How to get to Pampelonne Beach, St Tropez
You can get to Pampelonne Beach by taking Route des Plages – the beach road. As you drive along from St Tropez you have to turn left to get to Pampelonne, and from there you can reach all Pampelonne’s different areas.
The different areas of Pampelonne Beach
First you will arrive at Tahiti Beach, best known for the Tahiti Beach beach club and Jardin Tropezina. More than 60 years after its creation, Tahiti Beach beach club still feels like a best-kept-secret – a hidden gem which continues to attract an elite clientele. Come to enjoy the wines of Provence amongst blissful surroundings. Meanwhile, Jardin Tropezina aims to emulate a private pergola-shaded beach garden, where guests feel comfortable to relax all day, receiving five-star service.
A luscious green area offering grand villas with plenty of land, properties here are spaced out to allow for maximum privacy. Tahiti Beach is a highly sought-after place to rent and buy villas, and is very family friendly due to being within easy walking distance of Pampelonne and all its amenities.

The next area is Chemin de Moulins, famous for playing host to Moorea Plage. This enchanting beach club will seduce you with the sound of cicadas, the sea air and the smell of umbrella pines, not to mention its fresh, local cuisine.
The Chemin de Moulins area is wild and untouched, enjoying stunning natural beauty and luscious greenery. The land is flat and the beach here is lovely and wide. This is the perfect location for those who want to be tucked away, while at the same time being very close to St Tropez and its array of exciting beach clubs.

Chemin de Tamaris
Next, you will reach Chemin de Tamaris. This area of Pampelonne Beach, St Tropez was originally known as a family area, but in 2019 renovations were made to Pampelonne in order to restore the health of its sand dunes. This saw Chemin de Tamaris become a new favourite location for the partying jetset crew, who are often seen arriving by tender from their superyachts. However, the mostly flat landscape is still wild and untamed, with its natural beauty shining through.
Here revellers will find Loulou beach club, an ode to the French Riviera of the 1950s, designed in a chic, bohemian style, and Club Les Palmiers, a luxurious eco-friendly spot offering premium service and exquisite food. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all, Bagatelle Beach Club is now back and busier than ever, after having been originally told it could not reopen on Pampelonne Beach after the 2019 reshuffle.
Boulevard de Patch
Without a doubt the most iconic area of St Tropez’s Plage de Pampelonne, Boulevard Patch draws in the world’s elite, home to the world-famous Club 55. Established in 1955, Club 55’s philosophy is: “Here the customer is not the king… because he is a friend’, and this attitude is what sees countless celebrities and millionaires come back time and time again. Don’t miss Byblos beach club either – the place to go for a laid-back yet enchanting experience.
The little roads off Boulevard Patch have barriers and require a code to get through, giving properties here a level of exclusivity, although it is important to note that they are not private domains. Avenue des Lauriers Roses has a barrier, and from there this road splits into Avenue Frederic Mistral, Avenue des Mimosas, and Avenue des Belges. Villas located in this area are all less than a five-minute walk to Pampelonne Beach, giving them an extremely sought-after location. This area has a distinct residential feel, with houses dotted along the streets.
On the right side of Pampelonne, there are also little roads with barrier-protected access:
Avenue des Pins, Avenue des Cistes, and Allee des Oursins, which split off into Avenue de Belvedere, Allee des Murenes, and Avenue des Vignes. This area is where you will find Villa Ama, Villa Las Brisas, Villa Mirage II, and Villa Sassari, which we will look at below. In this area, even the most luxurious villas are laid out slightly closer together, with more villas per road. However, they are still not overlooked.

Lastly we come to Escalet beach, where a lack of beach clubs is more than made up for by a myriad of pretty little beaches, coves and rocky inlets, all of which offer stunning natural beauty. Protected by the Conservatoire National du Littoral since 1975, this area is very clean and well-maintained, while the fact that it doesn’t offer any beach clubs means it stays peaceful. A true hidden gem, Escalet beach does have facilities such as toilets, showers, a lifeguard, and snack bars. Just don’t be surprised if you see some naked revellers, as nudism is welcomed in this area.
Over the years, the part of Escalet that is closest to the beach has become more residential, with villas laid out more closely together. However, venture slightly higher up to find a wild, green and hilly landscape.
