Saint Tropez is synonymous with sophistication and style, so it makes perfect sense that the charming resort in the South of France is home to a number of leading fashion brands.
Within its beautiful paved streets are dozens of luxury boutiques selling designer labels and one off pieces, making the former French fishing town a must-visit destination for travelling fashionistas.
One of the main attractions for fashion loving visitors arriving in Saint Tropez each summer is the iconic brand Hermes, which has had a store in Place Georges Grammont for the last 13 years.
The famous fashion house was founded in 1837 by German-born Thierry Hermes, who was raised in France. The brand began as a small harness workshop in Paris dedicated to serving European noblemen with its range of luxury harnesses and bridles for horse-drawn carriages. Some year’s later Thierry’s son Charles-Emile took over the business and moved the shop to rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore in 1880, where the flagship boutique is still located. In 1900 handbags were introduced to the brand – and the rest, as they say, is history.
The boutique in Saint Tropez is located just off the central rue Georges Clemenceau, a two minute walk from the Port of Saint Tropez. It recently underwent a renovation with the established architectural firm RDAI transforming the ground floor into a stunning open space which is bathed in natural light.
One of the boutiques most impressive features in this ground floor space is a long piece of furniture in light cherry wood where the women’s silk items are displayed. A staircase at the back of the shop leads to the first floor where collections of bags, luggage, watches, jewellery and shoes are found.

But the store in central Saint Tropez is not the only place to find Hermes product in the South of France. All our St Tropez House villas are now equipped with Hermes bath and shower gel products meaning that our visitors to Saint Tropez can enjoy the luxurious qualities of one of France’s most iconic fashion labels without even leaving home.
