With the summer holidays tantalizingly close we thought it would be a good idea to highlight some of the best ice cream parlours in Saint Tropez in preparation for that first lick.
Because, no matter what age, everyone bar none loves to indulge in a glace after a day on the beach, or wandering around the Old Town of Saint Tropez.
Almost every bar and café in Saint Tropez sell ice-creams, from big brand names to home-made ices and sorbets. So to give our clients renting luxury villas in Saint Tropez this summer an insight into where to go for the best ice-cram, we asked the team at St Tropez House to offer their views.
Quai Frederic Mistral, 83990 Saint-Tropez
This ice-cream shop is like an Aladdin’s Cave for fans of frozen desserts with flavours such as creamy coconut and banana a particular hit. Popoff is located on the port, so it’s ideal for those of you heading back from a day on a luxury yacht, or to enjoy as you wander around the quay admiring the beautiful boats.
rue Francois Sibilli, 83990 Saint-Tropez
Another local favourite is Glace Alfred, situated on the main road which leads you from the port to Place des Lices. The ice-cream sold here is all homemade, with some wonderfully exotic flavours as well as the traditional ones.
2, rue Général Allard 83990 Saint Tropez
Without doubt the most famous ice-cream shop in Saint Tropez is La Maison Barbarac, which has been selling glaces and sorbets to generations since it was opened in 1986. The home-made ice-cream is so popular that there are now Barbarac shops in Cannes, Paris and Marseille. New flavours for this year include Tarte Tropezienne, Strawberry Cheescake and Ice Tea. The shop has also come up with a new concept – la glace light – in five flavours, which is sure to be a huge success amongst the beautiful crowd.
