As Storm Jude lashed out at coastal regions across the South of England last week, here in Saint Tropez we were thanking our blessings for the Indian summer which refuses to end on the Cote d’Azur.
As those of you staying in one of our luxury St Tropez House villas will know, the French Riviera has been enjoying a period of warmer than normal temperatures, with the mercury reaching 25C on consecutive days last week.
And while we are in for a somewhat rainy weekend, temperatures next week look unseasonable warm too meaning that the Indian summer we are experiencing isn’t ready to retreat just yet.
This prolonged warm period makes booking a last-minute luxury villa in Saint Tropez during the month of November a really attractive idea as much of Northern Europe descends into the depths of winter.
November is traditionally a quiet time here on the Cote d’Azur; when people take a deep breath after the hectic summer months and prepare for the next big event on the calendar – Christmas.
And where better to come to do just that. The majority of our luxury villas to rent have welcoming open fires for you to snuggle in front of after a bracing walk on a deserted Pampelonne Beach, whilst some also have indoor pools if the sea is slightly too chilly for your liking.
The region is also a great place to come to do your Christmas shopping. Saint Tropez itself has an enormous number of designer boutiques scattered along its windy cobbled streets, whilst the string of art galleries also make the perfect Christmas present scouting territory.
Meanwhile, for those of you hoping to pick up some delicious local wine for the Christmas table, why not arrange a visit at any one of the local vineyards who will be more than happy to arrange a wine-tasting afternoon?
